ACT welcomes 'daoud'

French-Moroccan trumpeter, producer and composer 'daoud' joins the ACT family of artists. The "problem child of French jazz" is one of the most interesting rising stars of the country's vibrant jazz and crossover scene. daoud's music combines influences from hip-hop, Italian house and modern jazz - as can be heard on his recently self-released debut album "GOOD BOY". daoud’s ACT-debut will be released in 2025.

daoud says: “It's hard for me to put my feelings about joining the ACT family in words. Like a lot of my peers, my education in music is tightly woven in the history of this label and I can't even begin to describe how influential records and artists such as Paolo Fresu, Verneri Pohjola, Colin Steele or Esbjörn Svensson and many more have been to me as a musician. I'm overjoyed to join this rich roster and can't wait to get to work.”

ACT CEO Andreas Brandis adds: "The French jazz scene is one of the largest and musically diverse in the world. ACT and its artists have always been an integral part of this scene and we are delighted to welcome daoud as the newest member of the "French ACT family". He brings everything you could wish for: Skill, dedication, creativity, joy, the ability to push boundaries and build bridges - and a whole lot of personality.
